View Full Version : Just bought a Powershot A620 - Lens question...
Just treated myself to a Powershot A620.
Looking at doing a bit of gig photography as well as fly on the wall/observational stuff.
Are the additional lens' worth the cash? TelePhoto and W/A I'm taking about - and anywhere reasonable to purchase from. Are the Canon branded ones recommended or should I look elsewhere?
Thanks in advance - will start posting some pictures soon I hope. :D

Just bumping for you - got my A620 a few weeks ago to compliment my 350D so while interested to hear unlikely to buy any since I just bought a Sigma 10-20 lens LOL
Cheers
Colin
I'm just looking at getting the PowerShot A620 from Amazon.
Would you recomend it?
I'm also interested in the lens changes.
Psycho
Take a serious look at lensmateonline.com - they sell the best quality adapters for the Powershots, and have tested a number of wide angle & telephoto convertors.
I use their adapter & would highly recommend it, but only for mounting filters so I can't comment on the tele or wide convertors...
Psycho - I have an A610, and it's a great camera (A620 is essentially the 7mp version) - lots of control over the exposures if you want it, and a decent enough auto/program mode. Most of the stuff on my flickr site was taken with the A610, so that should give you some idea of it's capabilities... Like any compact, it will restrict you if you need to change exposure settings quickly, or work at the very extremes of long exposure etc.
If you have any specific questions about it, feel free to post & I'll answer as best I can.
Still lovin' mine too! (A620) And with the recent slew of £17.99 1 gig sd cards I can take hundreds of rubbish pics. (my composition, NOT the camera's abilities!)
Just spent £300 at Amazon!
Got the A620, an iPod Nano and a travel adapter kit for the iPod.
I'll let you know what I think.
Psycho
