I used to have a 28" widescreen crt set and decided it was time to upgrade to at least 32".

Then I saw my friend's 36" set, and was almost persuaded to buy the same, the only downside being that the thing is huge! (which would normally be impressive but it is just too big for my living room)

After a bit of deliberation (and mainly prompted by comments in this forum) I decided to buy the Toshiba 43" rear projection set.

It is a beauty!!
it has a widescreen image of around 39" (it is a 4:3 set)
the advantage being that fullscreen images look simply stunning (Farscape has to be seen to be believed) whilst widescreen images are still larger than you could get with a crt set.

The same friend is also installing a dedicated home theatre set up and has now decided to go for a rear projection set (only this one is 61") after being impressed with mine.:D

I'm actually looking into the same thing and was considering the Toshiba 36ZP18P; Tosh 40WH08B or the Tosh 46WH08B.

Besides reviews and look I also took into account dimensions, weights and input/outputs.

Surprisingly the 36 inch set weighs more than both the 40" and 46" (a hefty 75Kg).

Although I am not purchasing yet I have decided on the 40WH08B as it's the lightest of the three is the right dimension for the Bay it will be going into, has three Scarts plus Component Input and has had some excellent reviews.

If you are looking at a Tosh I would recommend Tosh (http://www.home-entertainment.toshiba.co.uk/consumer/home.nsf) and sign up for a Brochure.

Now just need it to come down from £1579.00 to around £1200.00 and "You Will Be Mine"
