Yeah, the old "just seen it on TV and remembered how good it was" thing.:D So which is the best edition? -- ie, with all the US region 1 extras, but anamorphic. Am I right in thinking it's the Canadian one? Thing is, couldn't see the commentary the US edition has listed when I visited a Canadian site.

Any help much appreciated (plus recomendation of good place to get it).:)

According to DV-Depot the (new?) Canadian Good Will Hunting disc has all the features of the US disc plus a few exclusives.
See here (http://www.dv-depot.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=1&products_id=10239). You can probably find it a bit cheaper elsewhere though.

I am 99% certain the Canadian R1 version is Anamorphic with all of the extras of the US discs (there are 2 versions of the disc in the States!!)

I have the Canadian version (Alliance).
It's the same as the US R1 Collector's edition except that it is anamorphic.
Play sell it - that's where I got it!
AFAIK it's the only R1 version they stock (as they get their discs from Canada)

DVD Box Office do the Canadian (Alliance) version as well for about £14.50 delivered.

I Caught the film last night for the first time and decided to buy the DVD.

I also read that the Canadian R1 of EXISTENZ is the better version. Just wondering/wanting to confirm whether play.com stock the Canadian ones.

EDIT: Spelling... I need to type more slowly.

Yes, again the canadian R1 "eXistenZ" is the best version (also by Alliance). Same extras as UK R2 (except the dreamcast(?) demo thing - gee, big loss!) and it is anamorphic!
Play stock this disc too.

Wow,

Blu-ray review here (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReviews34/good_will_hunting.htm) - looks like two different films compared to the SD release.

I noticed before on the Blu-Ray JFK and French Connection that hi-def seems to bleach out the colour, and even more so on those caps of GWH, though it's probably a closer approximation of what it looked like "in theatres".
