I know this is stupid but how does he, all he does is put that website together and push water around in the faculty;)
If it's that easy to make a livin why am i botherin with a graphics degree, i'll start up my own film website, see films early and get free dvds.:D

It would be fair to say that he is very famous here, and even more so in America. So I had high expectations when I finally found his web-site a while back. I was so disappointed, firstly his web-site is a navigation nightmare. To find particular information on a movie held within his site take far too long. The design quickly gives me a headache, and scary to any newcomer. Secondly, his reviews and insights are complete drivel. I could never claim to do a better job, but with the hype that surrounds him you expect more. Sometimes it's like reading an opinion from an excited 12 year old, certainly no Michael Brooke.
To put it simply: His website is total and utter *****!
I was just this second on there reading about Panic Room. What is scary is the guys that post on there. The thread went from Panic room to Fincher sucking to fight club being best/worst film of the 90's to the best film/worst films of the 90's.
Then thought 'nah', sod this back to the forums.:D

Who knows? I really can't stand the site, and his reviews would shame a sixth form publication, especially his sycophantic LOTR review. What on earth they were thinking when they let him write the R1 Requiem For A Dream booklet notes, I'll never know.

I have heard about this guy, but never visited his site (and after the comments here I don't think I'll bother!) but it sounds to me like he needs to get out more :D

How does he make a living?
Have you seen what he charges for advertising on his site????
From what I remember it's something like $16,000 for a column about 2cm wide and maybe 8-10cm high down the side of the page. For 2 days.
I could be wrong with the exact figures, but you get the idea..............

I can well believe it. I'm working in adult websites and for $500 I can get a 1 day link on a site that gets 1million+ hits a day...i'm sure 'Aint It Cool' gets a whole lot more hits than that!

I've been visiting for years, and one thing is for sure, he doesn't take himself seriously. The design of the site is deliberate, he wants it to look like crap.

You should've seen his site a couple of years ago before he got famous.
Think the current site is hard to navigate?
Someone posted a link on the general forum a while back to a site that archived other web sites over the years. You can see how AICN looked back in the day.

His webpage is a waste of space, especially considering how many unconfirmed rumours and hoax information that gets posted there.
Much better off sticking with Dark Horizons

You would know him if you saw him. Obscenely fat guy with plenty of facial hair. Believes that he can make and break movies with his early reviews! (how he sneaks into test screenings is beyond me though!)

Believe it or not, I think this guy was one of the first who created the whole spy reports and stuff.
I still visit, there's some good stuff amongst the crap.
If the guy took himself seriously, I wouldn't bother visiting, but those damn animations are hilarious.

Lettering that fills the entire screen.
Reviews by people with dumb nicknames, who probably had a few too many skateboarding accidents as kids.
Reviews where the reviewer spends 1000 words talking about the layout of the cinema, the comfort of the seats, the taste of the popcorn, what the people in the next row were talking about... oh yeah, and they finish the review by saying, "The movie kicks ass/sucks balls!"
Message boards filled with the most vile pubescent American morons, whose vocabulary is a mixture of the words: Ass, suck, kiss, balls, choad, ****, ****, **** and ****. After 6 posts, the message board turns into an insult contest, in which everyone sucks each others balls and has disparaging things to say about each other's mothers.

I'm sorry, but I finally got round to seeing his site, and it's terrible! Looks like some cheap homepage. he has no knowledge of basic html, and the reviews are hardly that great either... i've seen much better sites, in fact, i could do much better myself, and I'm 16! I'm not being big-headed, but anybody could do better than that....
