Simple:
Japan in the future is in anarchic uproar. Youths are rebelling, unemployment at all high. How does the government handle it? By sending the worst class in the country of the 9th grade to a remote island once a year and forcing them to kill each other in three days. If there is more than one left at the end of the game, the collars on their necks explode. The film focuses on Nanahara and Noriko, the latest victims of the sick game.
I'm not too sure if this or LOTR is my fave film of the year yet!
I watched this again the other day. Much better the second time round. If your into a bit of Japanese (feel free to call me names if i've confused this with Chinese) cinema and violence then you can't go wrong.
Brilliant movie and my very first R3:clap:
My synopsis:
KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL (oooh, she's kinda cute;) ) KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL (oooh, there's the cute one again:) ) KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL.
THE END.

available pretty cheaply (less than £10 inc p+p) from
www.coolashop.com
or
www.ddd.house.com
both reliable retailers and probably cheaper than a trip to your nearest cinema that shows it.

A class of school kids are taken to a deserted island where there forced to kill each other & the last remaining survivour is free to leave.
Fantastic film that everyone should own.

Theres nothing like being polite
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, and besides, I'm not going to be polite to someone who's just ruined the film I'm about to go and see at 5:45 at the Prince Charles totally needlessly.
I'm genuinely angry about this - why does he feel the need to ruin someone's enjoyment and what business is it of yours to interject?

Well dear me, I AM sorry! May I be forever unhappy because I seemingly gave away a plot pointer to a film! And anyway, that pic has appeared in countless publications, and I think it's pretty obvious what's going on. So why don't you go and have a go at them too, mmm?
So, what should I change my sig to? Any suggestions?
Firstly, sorry to have caused any trouble by this thread...that was far from the intention.
ian_davies - I dont think it was the pic, but the line of text that was under it, I think it described the winner (Thankfully cant remember it)
Although i know roughly what the flick is about, I may get it now :D

Still don't think there's anything wrong with the text. No worries, get it anyway, an instant classic :)
Since the point of the film is "Who will survive?", it's a bit like starting the joke with punchline.
Sorry for sounding erratic, but since I was meant to be going to see it this evening for the first time (my friend had to pull out, so I haven't got), I was not best pleased!
By all means keep the picture, but lose the text!

He didn't give away the ending though, fairly sure the picture didn't have a lot to do with it either.
How is saying tht the guy is the rightful winner a spoiler...(sorry forgot how to spell the name) ...?????
Ian only stated that out of all the people who died he was one of the better characters...to follow your logic would suggest that saying that anyone died at all could be considered a spoiler...GROW UP PLEASE!!!:D
Its like telling someone the titanic sinks.....FFS!!!
For starters, burn, you're not exactly helping the situation, are you?
I have absolutely no idea who does and doesn't die, but very much want to see the film at the cinema, so why start informing me when I clearly don't want to know?
The wording was "the rightful winner" which indicated he was the winner, which is why I was so annoyed, and still am.
It's absolutely needless to start informing people of major plot twists of a film they haven't seen, and is nothing like the boat sinking in Titanic - it's a relatively obscure Japanese action film, the whole suspense coming from who will live and who will die.

Guys calm down.
Its all a bit of a misunderstanding.
Ian_Davies hasnt spoiled anything because Kiriyama is not the winner of Battle Royal.
There's over 40 kids in the competition, I think Ian_Davies was just suggesting that Kiriyama was his favourite and would have liked to have seen him win.
Jimmy, I'm in agreement. Guys..Chill. burn..as said above that post was a little less than helpful.
If there is anymore crap slinging I'll (somehow) get hold of a mod and have the thread closed. This was not the purpose of why i started it...
It ends here...Now
One thing about Battle Royale:
All the girls were very cute

I currently have this on pre-order from Play, out on 21/1. Is this going to be any different to the R3 disc (language/extras/packaging)?, cos I don't want to pay 15 quid for the R2 when I can pick up the same disc for just under £9 from Hong Kong.
Cheers.
