Life Fitness SU70 Exercise Bike - £497 at John Lewis.

Whilst not cheap, this is definitely a bargain. The cheapest I could find it elsewhere is around £800, with most places still charging around £1000!

wouldn't be much of a bargain at 28.5 stones :oh-hum: you'd be dead before the pedals had gone round 3 times :|

You could buy a half decent real bike for that money. Just think, you could actually take it out of the house, into the countryside, breathe real fresh air!!

It would mean you couldn't see your puter for a couple of hours though!

..... and be crushed by a car in all that pollution while a mugger steals your pump. :D

Already got a real bike which cost around double that, but that involves getting cold and wet and having to cycle home when you want a cup of tea, instead of simply getting off your bike and walking down to the kitchen ;)

Went for one for these!

Definitely more than I was intending to spend but Life Fitness do seem to be well regarded. £10 off voucher for my first order clinched it for me. :cuckoo:

On eBay they are going for £695.

don't unwrap it and sell it satraight away - thats some good beer money in your pocket straight away.

i really don't understand spending money on an exercise bike i spent half that on a proper bike, and when i cycle i actually get somwehere.

Mine's been a godsend since I had wrist surgery in February and can't go out on my 'real' bike. I wouldn't only have an indoor bike, but I think they are an excellent alternative depending on circumstances and the terrain you live in (e.g. I wouldn't want to cycle if I lived in a large city due to pollution and heavy traffic levels).

Because you can use it no matter what the weather and you'll never have to repair a puncture. But best of all, you can get fit whilst you watch TV. :D
