I was very surprised to get my R2 copy of Rush Hour 2 today and it seems EIV have improved their packaging.

Yes there still the press qoutes on the sleeve but the list of extras are all well presented in a decent box instead of a cramped space at the bottom. And the sound/picture information is all in a view.

As for the disc, pretty good, DTS-ES, all the extras and the LOTR trailer is on there as well.

just wondering utero, where did you get your disk from ?

Was it from an online source (like play which has it in stock) or from a street retailer ?

Also, after you've watched the film could you tell me if there's any burnt-in subtitles during the non-english speaking parts (thats if there are any parts like this as i havent seen the film yet)

This is the major thing that really annoyed me with EiV's release of the first film and if its the same with the second film it's Region 1 here i come!

I have to disagree. We have them in the back at Blockbuster, and i think the cover still looks very tacky. But i agree that the extras/specs are clearly labelled

Asda down my way were sellng them early soI picked up a copy and the sleeve is indeed a better effort :) I still think it's the white amarys that make EIV titles look cheap :(

Is there anybody who can answer the question about the burnt-in subtitles during the non-english speaking parts ?
I would really hate having to wait for the R4 just because EiV is again too stupid for something that simple.

just bought the dvd earlier on today.

Though i have only watched the first 5 minutes of the film those five minutes definitely had some subtitles during the non-english bits.

I'll watch the rest of the film and see if its for the whole film.

Must admit that im very impressed with this package. I know EiV get a lot of stick but thats more to do with their covers than their content (though i would be first to admit that they have some duff disks out). For really bad disks i'd have to go for Universal some of which are awful
