Time for a new mobile.... can anyone recommend a new Nokia phone .... i hear there are some new phones comming out soon like the N80 but there is no release dates.

I have a Nokia CK-7W Car Kit , so would need it to work with that!!

Also i am on a contract with Orange where i get 200 x net mins and 500 text messages which cost me £30 , are there any better deals out there ? , i don't use 500 texts but certainly they do save me money !

I'm definitely holding out for the n80 - it'll be well worth the wait.

My local Orange store have just received their display model, and they reckon it's usually 3-4 weeks before they start selling them instore. I phoned up Orange Premier and they told me it'd be out by the end of April, so these 2 sources seem to say the same thing (fingers crossed...).

If you're after a decent (3mp!) camera, nice-looking handset and awesome connectivity hold on in there.

i think i will wait for that then , always like nokia and as mentioned above i need it for the car kit.

However i would like to know the price , i like Orange, but need to reduce my bill and also the ability to download my bills and be able to sort them by phone number, or csv , something you cannot do with Orange , except get a PDF !

Looking at the N80 also. It has built in wi-fi, so do you think you will be able to surf the net on the phone via your wi-fi connection? I'm thinking when out and about in town would you be able to hook up to a wireless lan and surf / check email etc.?

No reason why not, it was the one thing missing from the N90 - wifi. Although surfing with a mobile may be a little underwhelming but for emails it should be cool.

Why not just go for the Imate JAM-in, does the same things, but it doesn't have a pull out keyboard, but I think it's a lot smaller, and it isn't symbian so you can get more applications for it. I have the original JAM and still think it's one of the best things available, when my contract runs out, I'm just gonna go for the JAM-in as it has Wifi and 128Mb of RAM. It took me a long time to leave Nokia phones as they seemed so well designed and intuitive, but they are always lacking in applications and connectivity so using them with third party programs and data doesn't work, since moving on to the world of pocket pc-esque microsoft things, I haven't looked back, yes you get the odd crash, but you can do sooooo much more with them. I'm sure there are converters from Nokia car kits to these things too.

Been holding out for the N80 for a while too, but the release date keeps seeming to slip so I'm not holding out much hope that it'll be available by May.

The imate looks smart - anyone know where you can get just the handset?

They are still fairly expensive as a sim free option, i have the original MDA compact, had my fun with it and am now looking to move back into the "real" phone world. Fingers crossed the N80 or N91 are available for free in Aug/Sept

Try looking here for a sim free one:

I read on a website the other day that Vodafone are expecting to be able to offer N80s as early as the end of April - anyone know anything more on the N80 availability?

I read a news item somewhere a few days ago that suggested Nokia were still working out a few bugs with the software before releasing...

That's mainly the E-Series phones, the N80 and N91 are ready to ship I believe.

I'm waiting for the E61 on with BlackBerry Connect enabled.

Any confirmation on this? Or which networks it will be on, my contract runs out in a few weeks and really like the look of the N91.

I guess that shipments will be slow so I would pre-order or try instore on a regular basis. Don't expect and good deals though to start with as they will be in high demand.

Apparently the N80 is due for o2 online around the 14th may(I phoned yesterday). My upgrade is due and I am holding out after a reliable source within the company I know says the N80 is a fantastic piece of kit and worth the wait, so I will.

 I'm on O2 online too and due an upgrade now. But I'll hold out for the N80. From the preview pics it looks quite nice. Does anyone know if you can install Tom Tom on it?

I was thinking of going for the SE W810i but its more or less similar to the K750 and W800i so not sure what SE are playing at here. The N80 seems to be the first decent phone from Nokia for a long while so I'll probably hold out for that before upgrading :)

Yes you can mate and I have the software,( I can navigate all round Europe with it) happy days!. You need a bigger memory card and he said the 256 (is it?) will be sufficient as the Tom tom takes up a lot

N91 is very nice :)
Best handset I have seen in along time!
Its alittle on the large size but with the stereo headset is amazing.
And the video is nice aswell.

Eseries handsets look very nice also, have not had a play around with the N80 yet should do in a week or so.
