View Full Version : Jin-Roh R1 DVD -- correct aspect ratio...?

Just seen the listing for the upcoming US release of Jin-Roh: Wolf Brigade on DVD but it's listed as being in standard 4:3 aspect.

Anyone know if this is correct?

The screenshots in the gallery on the official website look more like a 16:9 ratio which is more in keeping with most Anime film releases.

I just watched the Hong Kong release the other day and it looked fine to me. Nice picture, anamorphic widescreen, DTS sound, and good subtitles.

...that's why I ordered the French two-DVD-plus-one-CD EditionCollector ( http://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/fiche.php3?id=4000 and http://www.dvdrama.net/fiche.php3?1958 ) with anamorphic transfer and dts sound...

...he said, feeling smug in the knowledge that his command of written French was good enough to forego English subs...

The R1 releases due on 5th March will be all but identical to the French Editions already available...ie.

Standard = DTS, Anamorphic
Collectors = Slipcase Package, 2 Discs + OST CD, DTS, Anamorphic, Booklet, Plenty of extras

With the added bonus of English Subtitles
