Just received my copy of a Few Good Men Collectors Edition R4, now with DD5.1 and quite a few extras (or so I thought).

Loaded it up to find the Bare Bones disk and still in MPEG.

Appears there has been a major screwup at the Pressing Plant and they have pressed the old disc again.

Check out.....

Time to e-mail EzyDVD I think.

Sheesh - not really any excuses for guffing this one up.

Am quite surprised at Columbia - they have usually turned out to be one of the most reliable companies with relation to DVD releases (excluding Evolution over here, of course ;)).

Are you sure someone didn't just stick the wrong disc in the box? I had this happen with Raw Deal - I was sent the Momentum box with the old BMG pan'n'scan disc inside! Does it say on the disc itself that it's the special edition?

It does say Special Edition on the disc.

Columbia have recalled all stock and at the moment there is no news when it will be available again.

No certainly an error at there end, because so far everyone who has received it has had the wrong version.

It's a pressing problem. Basically no quality control at the pressing plant.

Rare for Tri Star to screw up on this scale on DVD but their laserdisc track record was appalling. Without fail, 99.9% of my LDs that have laser-rot are Columbia Tri Star discs. Wouldn’t be so bad but they’re dragging their feet about releasing a couple of my faves onto DVD so it’s double irritating that I can’t even watch the LDs anymore. Still, I suppose at least the characteristic white speckles caused by rot are somewhat in keeping with the season.

This makes me slightly worried about buying the Groundhog Day SE from R4 as that is Columbia / Tristar too.

Received reply from EzyDVD on the Subject:

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately we have just been advised by Columbia Tri-Star that there has
been an error made with the re-release of A Few Good Men (Special Edition).
It has become apparent that the incorrect master was used, and although the
cover of this disc advertises special features etc, the disc itself is in
fact the original version without any extras.

This product is now being re-called and we hope to have the correct stocks
very soon.

At this stage, we have no confirmation on a release date, so could I ask
that you please re-order this title, once it has been confirmed on the web
site.

Could I ask that you please send the Dvd back to me.

The postage you paid to send it back to me, will get refunded to your Credit
Card and so will the amount of the Dvd.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Regards
Ellen
