I January I plan to buy a Pioneer 747A Multi-Region, providing its not too expensive.

I have a Yamaha DSPa-595a. I saw that there is a Pioneer VSX-859 Amp/Reciever at the Home Cinema Heaven site. Do you really think its worth upgrading my Yamaha DSPa-595a to the Pioneer Amp/Reciever. Will it really much difference to the sound.

On the side of the DVD Player, is it really worth spending all that money on upgrading a Pioneer 626D to a 747A?

Thanks

GarethH,

this thing SHOULD be futureproof (to a certain extent). If it's 10% better than my Dv737 it will be amazing.

Not sure about the sound issue. I upgraded my 595 to a DSP-AX620 and that is excellent at the price. I think the Pioneer is vquite highly rated although it loses out on stereo sound.

I want to get a 747 as well. Let's hope it comes in at a reasonable price!

Oh i'm def gonna upgrade my DVD Player. For the following reasons:

RGB Loop through (so i can get my PS2 in RGB)
540 Lines Resolution
MP3 Playback
12-Bit 108MHz Video DAC (i.e. better performance)
DVD Audio/SACD
Silver Look on the 747 :D
