Now and again my Local area connection 3 (which i connect my 360 to through ICS) loses it's connection for a second then recconects?

Anyway to avoid this happening? Only lasts for a second but that's long enough to cut me off from a game.

Thanks.

I had the same problem using ICS, the only way I could get around it was by assigning some values manually into the 360 network settings.

Ok did the test last night. My NAT status was "Open". Everything else was "confirmed".

its worth investing in a router, let the router do its job, and not windows

Did you see my posts in the "ask questions" thread? Nearly cracked up trying to set up a router, hehe;)

oh dear, no sorry :D

routers are simple arent they, just plug your stuff in, and it does the rest...the only configuring i did was on my 360, assigning the gateway, and dns of NTL

I would probably look into the router thing again to be honest. What one did you try last time ?

It was a netgear modem/router, Matt. Wireless. I've been online from 7 till now and not had a disconnect. Only seems to do it very occasionally. Not sure if it's worth the stress/money of a router now but when i first posted i was worried it was going to happen often.

which isp are you with mate? and which netgear model did you try?

main advantage in your case with a router is you dont have to turn on your computer to get on live!
