Are they easy to unlock?

Also will the SIMs be registered based on my details entered on order? A work friend wants one and obviously I don't want to be sharing all my details with him!

Not sure - you could find out about details on the mother page Orange (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p=23943&a=60823&g=12568622) when you order online you only provide a delivery address as well as your card address and details - you aren't asked to register an account, so the answer to your second question is probably no.

Cheers OP, mother was complaining about not having a mobile, so this will do the job.

Orange have placed a security bar on your phone whilst it is in transit. To remove the bar you will need to call 0800 0790 006 and register your phone stating that your purchase was from the Orange Shop online.

When registering your phone please ensure you have your SIM Card to hand - it will be in the box your phone came in. Registering the phone should only take a few minutes.

I'm hoping to put in the SIM from my current Orange mobile (and ancient and increasingly flaky Sony CD5) so I can keep my existing number - hopefully that stuff about registering the new SIM won't stop that happening.

Mine cost £7 to unlock. I now use it with a O2 sim.

A few days ago I ordered a different phone from the Orange website, and the email says that when I receive it, I can register it with the new SIM, and they'll just transfer my number across. I'll probably try my old SIM first, but if not it doesn't sound like a problem to get it swapped to the new phone.

Cheers to OP.

Mums Nokia 1100 has screwed up (no sound) and her even older 5110 has terrible battery life, so this new one will be a nice supprise.

Just hope it's not too hard to operate compaired to a basic nokia.
Also hope you can turn predictive text off.

Anyway, got one :)

Unsure, I know it is a decent price, but whether the price to unlock it makes it worthwhile is something I'll have to ponder.

Had MAJOR issues with Stalag Orange last night trying to get phone up and running realy for my mum (mothers day) in the morning.

They kept insisting they talk to her, I was trying to say, you can't cos it's a gift, and anyway, I always get all this (tech) sorted out, but no, they would not budge, so I basically slammed the phone down on them after saying thanks for not helping.

Anyway, this morning all done (they had to speak to her and I told her what to say)

Jesus, anyone would think we are dealing with national security here, not a son buying him mum a £10 phone for mothers day!!!!

Anyhow, ranting over (all sorted now)

Anyone know how I can get a picture from my computer onto this phone as wallpaper?

We had the same trouble. They said all I could do was register it in my name and later re-register it. Which we did but turned out to be pointless as they asked for all the same information during the re-register except the imei and sim card numbers.

I sold my friend one of these today - Will he be having trouble registering the thing if it was bought under my details then? Or do they just take the details of the person phoning up?

If its currently unregistered I'd think there is no problem. If you registered it then I'd imagine they'll ask you for your 4 digit pass number as he could have just nicked it!
