View Full Version : Avious dvd recorder £39.99
Hi all, the title says it all. I just went into Superdrugs and saw the Avious recordable dvd player (model DRW--1029) for £39.99 so picked it up
Thought it'd be rude not to.

What branch of SuperDrug was this? any idea if this was a one off or a nationwide offer?
It was the Gravesend branch. I have no idea if its a nationwide thing or not, sorry

Will this be multi region
Its NTSC so I would think it was multi pal as well.
Check for the different audio subcarriers on its tuner. ;)
Will it do my dishes and wipe my arse?

You'll need the Sumvision TO55-ER5. Or your mum.

"Does it make toast? Yeah... makes great toast!"
does it play MP3's?
No but if you put in an abba dvd it gets up and dances to dancing queen.
Seriously though, if I had a spare £40 right now I'd snap one of these up asap.

Rang my local - they say the smaller branches won't have this, but you should be able to find them in the larger Superdrugs. Ipswich and Norwich don't have any. One more thing, who was it that got Ipswich to price check the avious dvd recorder they had in stock this morning??!! ;)

Doesn't seem to be any around Glasgow/EK either.
Will this be multi region
According to a guy who's bought it on the dvd reviewer forums, it's multi-region out of the box, here's a link http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/search/SearchForums.asp?Search=avious&Forum=176

Will it do my dishes and wipe my arse?
Of course not - but if it don't include a free holiday in Hawaii plus a sex slave for a week and a £30 instant cash back then I ain't buying one - heck I want a bargain here!

must be a regional offer as my local superdrug had them in stock but scanned thru at £80.00
Doubt if any of these are available anywhere now but worth keeping an eye on your local Superdrug over the next few weeks.
Checked with a manager at a superdrug yesterday and he said that they have never been £39.99 as far as he was aware they were around £80 mark hope this helps.
In that case there doesn't seem to be a bargain here.
