I've been meaning to lay this challenge down for ages...

Sometime back in the mid-1980's, I would watch Hill St. Blues on Channel Four and when it finished I'd flick over to BBC1 (~11:30pm ?) and there was a sci-fi series on which was something about a caveman (?) who'd gone into the future. My only redeeming memory is that at some stage he sported a pair of furry boots   :)

I think it was only a 4-6 part mini-series...

This mean anything to anybody ?

Ta,
Mike.

Isn't that a plot element in H2G2? I don't recall it being part of the tv series though.

Was in UK or US?
It wasn't one of those ones where guy crosses an ape with a human and gets a monkey boy who can't speak etc. Was it called first blood?

That was First Born (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096584/). I don't remember any furry boots in that though.

It may possibly have been this (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080468/) mini-series version of Brave New World shown by the Beeb over several nights in the early 80s. If I recall, there are scenes with primitives and "Johnny Alpha" (or summat, me memory's not what it was) inter-acting with the elite futuristic society.
