I was after a Dansai from Tesco (wasn't everyone?!) but as they're sold out, I saw these 2 in ASDA.

Schneider-811 £129
Pacific-1000 £99

I can't find any reviews/info about em.

Anyone got one? Can advise?
Cheers.

The Schneider is supposed to be pants (according to a well respected DVD chipping dealer).Picture quality is reputed to be very poor for a DVD player. If there is lip-synch problems too (as wolkim reports) then its definately one to avoid.

Not heard anything about the Pacific model though.

If you are still after a Dansai , remember the Naiko (available at Makro) is basically the same player. It has also been reported that the Crown player at Powerhouse also uses the Dansai hack (so this is probably the same internally too ).

Apparently the Pacific 1000 player may be a clone of the Reoc A3 that Safeway are selling - the same hack works.
