View Full Version : Freecom MediaPlayer external HDD?
Anyone have one of these or know of any problems? There are networked versions too http://www.freecom.com/ecSerie.asp?ID=8060&page=PROD_DISKWARE
They don't seem to be much more expensive than some of the custom packaged external HDDs around. Can't see much by way of reviews.
Are there better competing products?
Will these help?

I have just tried out the Pikaone Flytv drive (160gb)
Here (http://www.pikaone.com/en/products/index.htm)
I found it worked ok with TV mpeg2 recordings but with .avi it had lip sync problems !
Also with video files of different formats it did not support AC3 audio format which means it is going back.
If you get the network streaming version you would be able to play back ac3 from the pc I would imagine.
Hope this helps.
This looks the buisness
