Marantz 4100 OSE

Quite fancy one of these anyone got any reviews/info/opinions??

Any forum users got one??

How does it compare to the Toshiba 210 (my other choice)

Got one. Quite happy with it. Some CDs playback noisey but that doesn't really matter to me, as I bought it for DVD playback. It goes well on the shelf with my Marantz KI signature amp and CD player too. :)

Haven't been able to compare it to anything else but the Pioneer DV444 which I had for a brief time, testing it for someone's birthday present. The Pioneer was nice too, more slimline, MP3 playback supported, with more buttons on the remote too! Depends on what you want. The Marantz remote is, I have to say... downright ugly.

Sorry can't be of much technical help, but my TV isn't up to much (yet) and it is my first DVD player. Maybe in hindsight I would have gone for the Toshiba or the Pioneer and bought more DVDs with the money to spare... but there's something about the Marantz finish looking good...

Thanks I agree with you about the Marantz finishbeing really good thats why I'm tempted! I was pretty much settled on A Tosh 210 but it's not a very nice machine to look at! Shame I have a "thing" about Pioneer!! The 444 and 545 seem to getting really good reports but it's just one of those stupid personal things I don't really know why exactly but I just won't buy anything made by them!! (crazy I know!)
