Never known a connection like this. I sometimes struggle to connect to any website all. Then once I do, its fine. In the meantime, I cannot connect to any other site at the same time

Some days, I can connect to anything

Other days, nothing

Then sessions like now, where I was finally able to connect to here, but few other sits

Any ideas?

Thanks

Is it DNS problems? TalkTalk's DNS servers can be a little flakey at times. You could try switching over to Pipex DNS servers and see if that helps, if you know what you're doing.

try ping www.bbc.co.uk , if that is flakey try 212.58.224.83, if that works check your router and network conenction settings, make sure its set to "get DNS automatically", if thats done, reset router, if that doesnt slove it contact talktalk.

If your DNS service is working, then another possibility is that you've exhausted Windows TCP/IP connections. One quick way to do this is to run a P2P filesharing program.

What specific errors do you get?

"Page not found" is not terribly specific, but if it's working again then it's most likely to be a DNS/routing problem that your ISP (or upstream) had.

This is the message I get

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at ....

* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I've written to complain to Talk Talk. Their customer services phone line just added insult to injury. Too busy to take my call, so they cut me off :brickwall Funnily enough, their sales dept had plenty of staff available to take my call
