I'm on the look out for a cheap graphics card ... but I've not bought one in my life so have no clue what to look for!

It's for a Shuttle SB52G2. I'm not a big PC gamer so have been getting by with the onboard graphics. But motivated by Command & Conquer: The First Decade I think I need to get at least a basic one in. Red Alert 2 can slow down and Generals is unplayable at about 3 FPS.

I'm not going to try and run any FPS at 130 frames ... I just need something to play some slightly older RTS titles. Besides I am hobbled as my Shuttle is PCI only - no AGP.

I want to spend under £50 (preferably under £40) and have spotted these:
Radeon 9250 (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006QAHNS/thedvdforums-21)

Geforce FX5200 (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000E2Y7E/thedvdforums-21)

Will one of these do? I take it that the Shuttle will take a full-size card and not need a special one (I really know nothing!)? Anyone got any bright(er) ideas?

Ta in advance

PC World have a 128Meg 6200 card for about 39.99 (collect at store) - item code 200528 that may be worth you having a look at. Bit hard to get benchmarks but a newer card than the ones you've specified.

I recently bought a SAPPHIRE - Radeon 9550 256MB from PCWorld as a cheap quiet card and have very impressed. £45 collect in store at PCWorld.

I've got it sat in a small form pc at the moment and it hasn't raised the case temperatures or increased noise noticably. Generals also runs nicely at 1280x1024.
