Popped up to Oxford today for the hell of it and took a fair few photos. I started getting pretentious and arty with shadows as there was a really strong golden sunlight thanks to a few rain clouds.

very nice my fav is the second one.

(here we go again) which technique do you use to convert them to b&w

Up the contrast and saturation during RAW conversion, Gradient Map in Photoshop then fiddle with the contrast and brightness again on a per image basis.

Looking good GJ ... particularly like shot 2 - the shadows are great in that shot.
