First pic is great, I would be voting that as number 1 for sure.
It reminds me of an image that Andrzej Dragan could really go to town on (http://andrzejdragan.com/). This steam conductor looks like he could belong on Andrzej's website.
Heh :) I love the expression on the guy in pic 1's face - wonder how often he gets his picture taken on an average weekend...? :)

Er no! the chappie was facing the front of the engine when he decided to turn, he just paused when he saw me pointing camera at him.
now that I think of it the lens used was my 12-24 tokina set at the 24mm end... purhaps I was invading his personal space..(feeling guilty)
samiad that is a very intersting site you linked too and there is an image on that site bears a passing resembalance to this chappie

My intention was to go to Embsay station and then up to Bolton Abbey but heard that the worth valley railway was having this special weekend.
To be honest I should have stuck to my original plan as when I got to keighely the light was not ideal with the bright blue sky and afternoon sun but the station was all gloomy and in shadow from the factory next to it - over/under exposure nightmare.
so it was Embsay sat morn, keighly sat afternoon and howarth/oakworth sunday morn.
Love the last one, B&W so suits the subject matter. One worth framing on the wall.
