Anyone know of a direct link to the Blade 2 trailer released today - I wanna hold onto the bugger - The quicktime site only allows download in an Explorer window - None of my download managers will grab it!

The Blade 2 teaser trailer's not up to much.

Lots of coming soon titles over brooding music followed by about 5 seconds of Blade in action then the title card.

Kanedaa you are the man!!!. Ever thought of doing this full time?.

I tried going to the Apple site to see if my luck would change (it didn't) and i thought to myself it'd be cool if Kanedaa did his little trick he did with Spidey. And you did!!!!!
Lo and Behold...........the trailer king/god (delete were applicable) was born.

Thank you O mighty one...... http://www.stopstart.btinternet.co.uk/sm/notworthy.gif

agreed. very disappointing after that salivating review of the rough cut that appeared on AICN last month. thought the opening shot was particularly poor - where blade, clearly in CGI, bounds along in front of the camera. looked too cartoony to me. and the rest of it looked like it was shot by joel schumacher in his batman forever phase. what's with all the coloured lighting? shot in prague, i thought this was going to look dark, gothic and cool?

See here (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/) for Quicktime download.

Ever since I upgraded to the freeware QT5 I can't view trailers on the Quicktime website. I try to view a trailer and then after a minute or so I get an image of a broken film frame. I've reinstalled it (this was on Win2K) and even after a clean WinXP build and starting again, I still get the same broken frame.

Has anyone else seen this and knows what the problem is?

BTW another excellent trailer site is http://www.empiremovies.com/trailers.shtml

Most trailers can be downloaded using right click and save target as... with only a few that link directly to Apple. If the files give a filesize in MB i.e. not just Large, Medium etc. then you can download them.

Alanok,

Been to the apple site, but this just downloads an installer, whihc then downloads the qt stuff from the site.

I'm after a stanalone qt5 really.

I have the same problem as you Thadapman. I spent ages trying to download QT5 after 5 attempts i managed to do it successfully. However i still get the broken film frame whenever i try to look at anything on there.

It doesn;'t bother me that much as more often than not Dark Horizons/Joblo or Kanedaa;) will post mirrirod links so that they can be downloaded. It is annoying though.

To get a standalone version of QT5 you'll need to download a full install package from an FTP site or a File Sharing App.

A good FTP search engine is www.oth.net , just search 'Quicktime' and tick on 'Hide ? sites' cos they're ratio crap. The install package is 9.5mb or so, latest version I *think* is v5.02...same situation on Morpheus or some other Filesharing App. Alternatively if you download the installer from Apples website and then choose Full install options, when its completed its download do a search on your Windows Hard Drive (Root C: drive usually) for 'QuickTimeInstallCache.qdat' - its around 9.8mb, bung that in a zip file with the installer and you have yourself a standalone install package.

Just like their Trailers Apple seem to be trying to make it as hard as possible for users to actually download&keep their software (which they proudly advertise as being Free).

Hope that helps.
dave.

Dave may I ask you a question seeing as you seem to be a whizz with Quicktime and trailers. Just downloaded two Star Wars trailers (Breathing and Forbidden Love) but when I go to play them the Quicktime player flashes up and disappears. Then I get redirected to a Apple.com login box asking for my Userid and password. Any idea how I can get round this or does anybody else have any idea?

If you load the trailers using the quicktime plugin v5 in internet explorer you can save the quicktime trailers to the hard disk once it had finished downloading. Right mouse click on the trailer picture and then choose save quicktime file or something like that.
