View Full Version : LOS SIN NOMBRE (The Nameless) - Good Watch?
I bought the Spanish R2 DVD of Los Sin Nombre on holiday for about £8. Is it a good watch or not? :D

I've seen this adaptation of Ramsey Cambell's novel "The Nameless" at the Festival of Fantastic Films 2000 that took place in Manchester. It's an excellent, if depressing movie. The director has stripped all elements of the supernatural from the story and concentrated on one womans obsession to find her missing child rumoured to be in the hands of a quasi-religious cult. The film is measured in tone and very downbeat, even more so than the book. I spoke to Ramsey afterwards and he's very proud of the movie and was pleased with the changes the director had made. I found the ending horrifing. I wish I had a copy of the DVD. Hope you like it.
...two thumbs and one big toe way up!...
. . . :o . . .
Where can obtain such a mighty wonder?
Picked it up some time ago. It's available on R2 in Spain.

I'm tempted to get this especially as it has both Spanish and English (as well as Catalan) audio tracks. The price is OK it's just the postage that stings a little. If my calculations are correct it's over £7.00 for up to four DVD's. Trouble is I only want one! Still the film doesn't look like it'll be available over here for a good while yet. I'll see what January brings.
Well, I think I'm going to play it on Christmas Eve. Should be a nice 100 minutes away from all the other commercialised pap that is on telly. :D

Jebus H! Just watched this and have to say that no movie since the original Vanishing has left me so numb. It seems odd that a movie so bone-chilling should look so good but it does. Anyone know what the photographic process used was? Seems to give everything a soft metallic feel resulting in some spectacular images.
Highly recommended.
