View Full Version : Moulin Rouge R1 packaging
I received Moulin Rouge from dvdimport.com yesterday. It is a nice hard cardboard package with a fold out folder for the discs as well as the booklet. The only unpleasing thing is the paper that has been glued to the back of the box with a decription of the film and some other details of what is one discs. The really annoying thing is that it has not been glued on completely straight and the original back of the box was just as nice, even though it lacked any information of the content. I was just wondering if every R1 version was like this?

Mine's the same. It makes an otherwise superb package look just that little bit tacky. Ho hum
I'm still undecided about which region to go for. I've not got a R4 disc and was thinking of going with that. I think i prefer the look of the cover. Anyone know if it's exactly the same as the R1?, package wise not design ie with the aforementioned piece of paper stuck on the back.

The piece of paper is meant to come off. It's just for information. They did a similar thing with the Simpsons boxed set.
Yeah but the chances are that the box will be ripped, at least when I tried last night very carefully it looked that way.

The R4 has the info printed on it as part of the design.
Personally I think the R4 is the better package design.
AFAIK the only difference between R1 and R4 is that R4 has only English Language and no subtitles.
(R4 doesn't seem to have the DTS lip-synch problems that some peeps are getting with the R1 version!).
It very easy to take the paper off the back of the R1. Just don't rush and it should come off without so much as a rip. And yes Preacher is right, it's meant to come off. It's only meant to be a info sheet showing the details of the disk when it's on the shelf.

Buffy had that too. Only problem being that there was no way to tell the special features once you took it off.
My Moulin Rouge was a bit torn - but hardly noticeable. Bit annoying all the same.
Thanks Richie, probably wise to go with the R4 one then as i don't want to risk any lip sync problems. I do think i prefer the cover as well.
Thanks.:D

I managed to remove the info sheet from the back of my 'Moulin Rouge' very easily. I did'nt want to throw it away, so I found a way of keeping it inside the packaging. Because of the size of the info sheet it can't fit into the pocket, but it fits perfectly between the two discs as you close the packaging.

Yeah, mine too, the packaging is really good, except for the bit at the back wher you do not know whether to glue it on or rip it off.
except for that the box is first class and looks the part.
