Has anyone got the dvd of this?

I saw bits and pieces when the series was on tv and it was awesome.

Saw that its on a 2-disc dvd set at around £30

I've got it - another top notch documentary from the BBC and given a respectable treatment on disc. You get the whole series of about 8 hours and that's about it. I'd argue that at £30 it's a little overpriced but I haven't seen a better documentary on the subject to date.

I was disappointed by what I saw of Space (with Sam Neill) as it seemed to be the usual triumph of style over substance, but The Planets is very good. If you're interested in space exploration, get it.

It might be worth waiting until the next round of BOGOF/BOGOHP offers from the high street retailers though. That's where I got my copy.

Channel 4's The Cosmos with Jon Snow was pretty good. You can pick up both discs at Play very reasonably.

Forget about buying it from this country, you can get for about £16 plus postage from:

There's a R2 Spanish version coming soon with DD5.1 and DTS. I have no idea what the mix will be like but I do know this will be across 4 volumes (2 eps per disc).

Yeah, fantastic series (the likes of which only the BBC seem to be able to produce), pretty poor DVD.

Transfer is a bit dodgy (low bitrate?).
No extras.
Very expensive.
Sure it had a Dolby Digital trailer (even though the disc is pro-logic!).
