Hey guys,

I am contemplating upgrading my gaming rig from 1GB to 2GB, as several games, including Battlefield 2 are just getting on my nerves in terms of load times and the amount of HDD paging that goes on.

So, is there any particular brand I should be after / or avoid?

I was thinking about buying 2 sticks of these...

Any advice would be great.

I may be mistaken, but I don't think your CPU utilises DDR - so try keep the number of sticks down.

DDR and dual channel operation are slightly different things ;)

Just add another 1GB stick of whatever you have at the moment

If you use 4 sticks of ram it actually runs at 333, not 400 with A64 CPU's.
I've just upgraded to 2gb myself, sold my 2x512mb and bought a matched pair of Crucial DDR.

Get 2x1GB matched kit of either corsair value select or Geil value. Will be cheaper and better than the kingston

Scan has cheap corsair

I found that out recently, and thats despite the fact that the Venice A64 processor I bought was supposed to support 4 sticks at 400. The motherboard automatically clocked the memory speed back down to 333. I've now got 2 1gb sticks instead.
