Hi Guys,

Good news (IMHO) - looks like there's a Portishead DVD on the way, as the BBFC have recently classified a number of videos for DVD:

Portishead - Advert
Portishead - Over
Portishead - Only You
Portishead - Road Trip to Portishead
Portishead - Sour Times (Gun Version)
Portishead - Numb
Portishead - All Mine
Portishead - Wandering Star

Surely there should be a Glory Box video, though if they're releasing a video collection. Anyone know anything?

Buffy wise, looks like the Season 4 classification process might have begun - there's

Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Featurette run-time 3m59s listed as a DVD Addtional Material.

Dunno about the videos, but play have Portishead - Live At The Roseland Theatre coming out 04/02/2002 for £11.99.

They were pretty good live, but I'd prefer to warch the videos...

I thought they were excellent live, but I've never been keen on that particular Roseland performance... it felt very sterile for some reason, if that makes any sense. Still, at that price if they put the videos on there, then I'll spring for another twelve quid, although what on earth I'll do with the VHS is another matter....

I loved the Roseland concert and am certainly looking forward to seeing that out on DVD. Thanks for the information also about the video releases, Mike. Anyone heard anything about a new CD release? It's been a very long time...

Another one who loved the Roseland live performance. Never tire of playing the CD, the only annoying thing is the crowd clapping along at the end.

I thought that live concert was a bit 'flat' , but I'd be interested in the DVD if it has extra bits.
Will we ever get another album from these guys..?

I heard they were in Australia recording at one point recently, but nothing since... you know it'll be worth the wait, though!

I thought that Portishead had split up as they hated all the attention they were getting.

Anyone seem them play the acoustic tent at Glastonbury (1995 I think) was supposed to be quite a cozy gig :D

They also made a short film which they would play before gigs, I believe it was called "To Kill A Dead Man..." anyone know if that will appear on the DVD?

Their gig at the Barrowlands in Glasgow is probably the best live show I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot).

To Kill a Dead Man used to get shown fairly regularly on MTV at about 3am a while back.

I have to agree - I saw the last tour in Bridlington of all places - quite possibly the best gig I have ever been to. Superb sound quality and a sublime performance. What they lack in quantity of stuff released they more than make up for in quality !!
