"Last month the Bristol Trip-Hoppers, Massive Attack, released all their music videos onto DVD. It was interesting to note that the BBFC passed this with no cuts for a 12 certificate. The song Karmacoma contains sexually explicit lyrics, and the video to Be Thankful For What You've Got is probably the most explicit video ever made (The Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up loses out in the nudity stakes here)"

I remember seeing this myself on late night MTV and am wondering if this could really have been passed as a 12? I'm in no doubt that the disc is rated 12 but has anything been done to the video to tame it down? Is it on there? Have they used any kind of pixellisation masking on there?

Just watched it about an hour ago. It's uncut - Full frontal nudity and stripping a-go-go. Quite suprised this one snuck past as a 12!!!!

I'd never seen the video to be thankful and was happily watching it in front of the family, when she started to strip, I thought hello, what's going on here then.
Dismissed and thought any minute now the video will take on another direction.
So when her top came off and she started to fiddle with her briefs I grabbed the remote quickly and pressed stop.
No harm done, just!
I'm pretty open minded' but I'm struggling to see any reason for the video.
Perhaps it's a side of life Massive felt needed recording.
It will obvious be late night viewing for many developing teenage boys.

Great videos, shame about the sound on this disc.
I think it's awful.

Any thoughts.

I would of passed it with a E cert as its not something the average bloke on the street would buy. Most music VHS tapes I've got which are Exempt from classification contain strong language (But not full frontal nudity) ;)
