Having read the thread about American Graffitti, and how many people found it made them nostalgic for an era they didn't experience, does anyone feel the same way about Dazed and Confused?

I can't get enough of this film -- I find myself watching it at least once a month and it never gets boring. Despite growing up in the 90s, it always makes me remember the more aimless parts of my adolescence with fondness. Everyone knew these characters when they were at school, there is someone for everyone to identify with (from Randall the sports hero to Mike the repressed geek who just "wants to dance!").

The sooner it's available on R2 DVD the better.

And I dare anyone to try the drinking game where you take a shot of vodka whenever Wooderson says "All right!"

Best line: "Are you cool, man?"
"You mean, like, how?"
"Ooooooooo - kaaaaaay...."

I was 15 in 1976 and just about every scene of the film rings true in one way or another. As a reviewer said at the time, it captures the spirit of just how weird the seventies really were. Great soundtrack too - Alice Cooper, Bob Dylan and Aerosmith ! marvellous.

Yep, fantastic film, probably the only DVD I've watched and will ever watch three times in the first week of getting it.

Be nice to see an SE with Linklaker commentary, maybe even get the ever-reliable Affleck in, though I doubt that'd happen.

Anyone else notice the lipsync dropouts on the R1 DVD? Pretty noticable on both my PC DVD and Pioneer home players. :(

Just watched it again last night. Still gets me every time:

"But behind every great man, was a great woman. And that woman was Martha Washington. And every day, when he finished work, she'd have a BIG FAT BOWL waiting for him when he came in, man. She was a hip, hip, hip lady."

there was a bloke in my old local who was the spitting image of Wooderson. 'tache & everything!

'That's what I like about these high school girls, man. I get older and they stay the same age'

I hadn't seen this film in a while but caught it on digital the other day and realised what a great film it really was - good film to laugh at Affleck's bizarre hair and also the fact that it stars half the cast of a Kevin Smith movie...

What is the best DVD release for the film?

BTW - Check my Sig!!!
