Just downloaded (and bought) it for 400 points. Managed to get to 37th place on the Live leaderboards on my first go.

This suggests one of two things to me.

Either

a) I rule at this game and pwn yuo a11!!!!!!11

or

b) It has only just appeared and I'll be bumped down to 14,732nd place by tomorrow morning.

Was this originally an arcade game or from the 8 or 16 bit machines?

As far as I'm aware this game first came out on the Mac about 1987, written by a UK bloke who went on to make Carmageddon.

Not really that impressed with the trial version to be honest, just makes me want to play more Geometry Wars.

Looks like this was the correct option. I was around 90th position a couple of hours after posting last night.

So is this the game I used to play on my mates Mac years ago? Had *really* funny sound effects if I recall.

I wouldn't have actually viewed the thread earlier if i had known it was a 'Arcade' game and not some new Final Fantasy type release.;)

I have to say I didn't find it to be terribly exciting - it does seem like yet another Asteroids derivative, none of which are a patch on Geometry Wars anyway.
