Hi

Anyone got any experience of the Kenwood KRFV5050 AV receiver, good or bad, that they would care to share?

Thanks

I've got a Kenwood 5050 and am very impressed. It handles 5.1, DTS and Pro logic without problems. I think it is a really capable amp for the price. If you want the latest formats like DD6.1, DTS EX, DTS ES or PL2 then look elsewhere but if you want a reciever that can delivery the goods from most currently available DVD's you can't go far wrong.

I'd have to agree. Cost me £150 from richersounds when I mentioned what hifi.

Excellent amp for the price.

Thanks for the quick answers!

BTW forgive my ignorance, but what do I say regarding What HiFi?

Is this some sort of semi-masonic ritual I need to be aware of? :D

Richer advertise a price in What Hi-Fi magazine that is cheaper than online or if you cold call.
Just say that you want the price advertised in the mag.

I got a 7030 last year and it is great.

All the usual dd,dts,Pl/etc. good range of inputs.

It does the job and that is all that is needed.

and TBH unless you have already got or regularly used a HC setup then it will sound far better than any TV sound ou have ever used!

I got mine from Unbeatable for £150 - a great amp and does everything I'll ever need/ My only gripe is the remote - it's too small and all the buttons are the same shape :(

BUT - a great buy at a nice price :)

I was aftre this amp when i was shopping for my home-cinema. But when i turn up at Richer Sounds they said they ran out! But they offered me a Sony 445 for £200!!!!! Took it and never regrated it since. a wonderful piece of kit that looks superb.
