Rather than clog up the thread in the bargain forum with yet more queries about the Vario I'll post here.

I'm in two minds of spending more cash on a router to enable me to use my broadband internet connection on my MDA Vario. Can I use my existing Speedtouch 330 modem with a wi-fi router or would I better off buying a router with a built in modem. Any recommendations and things to look out for?

Is it worth the hassle as it seems a lot of people have problems setting up a wireless network. Currently my internet connection is fine and I'm not sure I want to mess around with it all.

Finally the price of Bluetooth headsets varies a lot from under £20 to well over £45. Do you get what you pay for? All I want is a simple one for the car which enables me to receive short calls.

(edit)
I will need a modem/router as I think the 330 is USB only.

Your connection via a USB modem needs the PC to on all the time, but you can add a Wireless Access Point to this setup. Personally I would get a wi-fi/modem/router as it's a much simpler to setup.

I'm using an old Netgear 834g with 3 PCs and my O2 XDA Exec.

That sounds the best option but the more I think about it the more it seems like a waste of money. If I'm home I doubt I'd use the Vario much online when the PC is there so the cost and hassle of a wireless setup seems rather pointless.

Bluetooth headset recommendations?

There days you'll probably find a 'combo' to be just as cheap as buying without some of the features, eg. just bought a NetGear MIMO Wireless Router for the same price as the Access Point version (i.e. product without router).
