I have seen (on www.michaeldvd.com.au) that the three colours trilogy is in the process of coming out in Oz. I can't find any of the DVDs on sale anywhere though.

Does anyone have any information about these releases (i.e. sound, picture, extras etc.) in Oz? An indication of an online retailer who is selling this would be good too.

Cheers,
Tony

Would have taken less than a minute to find them at EzyDVD

No information on quality of the discs, and whether they're direct copies of the R2 (UK) discs. Just worried that the distributor, Shock don't have that great a reputation of late, e.g. their issue of Clerks was said to be pretty bad in comparison with the R1 disc. :(

Chaos are doing them for AUS $25 (less tax plus shipping) - no info but here's a link (http://www.chaosmusic.com/shop/detail.asp?productID=755099)

If they have the same extras as the UK editions this would work out at quite a bargain!

Unless you're buying them all in one go, I'd buy Red from EzyDVD as Chaos are charging around $9 AUD more for than Red compared to Blue and White.

Yeah, funny that. I've worked out that at 2.82 AU$ to the pound you could get the trilogy from EzyDVD for around £32 shipped! They also state that Blue and White are in stock now - wonder why no one has posted details in that case?

The R4 DVDs are taken from the same masters used for the VHS versions. They are letterboxed but not anamorphic, have DD2.0 sound, burnt in yellow subtitles and no extras. Stick with the vastly superior R2 versions, as expensive they may be.

Just sent emails to Chaos (titles listed as On Order) and EzyDVD cancelling all three DVD's. Should have known better than to order something distributed by Shock.

Are the films coming out on R1 any time soon? Listed as not yet available at Amazon.com :(

Why are you concerned about the R1 versions? The R2 versions are excellent, with DD 5.0 tracks, a wealth of informative extras and anamorphic video. Yes, they're a bit pricy, but they're more than worth it. R1 versions have been rumoured for a while, but I can't see them improving on the R2 DVDs (particularly as Keislowski has been dead for over 5 years).

I would echo what has been said about the R2 DVD releases of the Three Colours (and blatantly try to plug the DVDTimes (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk) reviews of the films in my sig). I can't see R1 releases coming up with anything over the material on the R2 releases, which came from MK2, the company owned by Marin Karmitz, the producer of the Three Colours trilogy. You can get them for £14.99 each, P&P included from Play - which isn't bad. The R4 releases sound really nasty. Avoid.

Thanks for that - and to think I nearly ordered them!

I just thought of holding out for a while longer to see if the R1 editions turn out to be a bit cheaper. If there's no news on availability soon I'll order the R2 editions. Shame there isn't a boxset like in France. :(
