I am buying a digital camcorder for a school movie-making club.
Requirements are good quality image/ under 400 pounds / captures in widescreen mode.
I know there have been mega price reductions on these since I paid 750 pounds for my JVC 6 years ago. So the more I can save on the camcorder the more is available for other equipment such as lighting, tapes, pc software etc.
PLease give me your recommendations.

£329 for this 3 chip camera from Amazon:
3 chip camcorder (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007YQNZ0/thedvdforums-21)
EDIT: This is not in stock or has been discontinued at Amazon apparently but I'm sure a quick Google would find it at a similar price somewhere else.

He's messed up the link but if you copy it into your browser, it takes you
here. (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007NLHAW/thedvdforums-21)
The Panasonic NV-GS75B I linked to is a great little camera for the price. I have one myself.
But the Sony HC22 doesn't record in true widescreen.
You need the HC39/42
Please close - I've asked for recommends in the camcorder forum where more opinions will hopefully be forthcoming. Not that those expressed here are not welcome.
