I saw something like this on the Ringo's site.
Does it work, and are there any others like it? as for £30, its a bit pricey!!

I have a Toshiba SD110E multi-region chipped, but i don't think Macrovision has been disabled.

Yes, it strips macrovision from the video and RGB signal.

This allows you to daisy chain through a VCR successfully or connect to a projector that doesn't like macrovision.

I might be in the market for one of these, but need to clear something up first. I've just upgraded from a Samsung 709 with no macro to a Yamaha S520 with macro still on.

In the top half inch of the TV the image is distorted by a ripple (Only on the Video - menus etc are OK) - ie the image apears wavy - this is not a TV issue (other sources are OK) or a player issue (why are menus OK then). I also seem to remember certain videos having a similar effect (but the effect was "fuzzier".

Is this the macrovision, or something to do with using a SCART switcher . It seems a bit rough to use a coding method that messes up part of the picture, and would make a de-macro-er an essential bit of kit. I'm surprised no-ones mentioned it (that i've seen).
