People always talk about new movies and how they are looking forward to seeing them. There are so many movies out there which people always go on about but you probably have not seen.

Which movies have you not seen but people have always raved about?

Here's my list, don't go "how on earth can you have not seen that"!!! Keep in mind I'm still a Student!

Blade Runner
Shawshank Redemption
Full Metal Jacket
Goodfellas
Leon
Das Boot
Apocalypse Now
Usual Suspects

I've never seen any of the Godfather's. I'm hoping to pick them up on DVD when they reduce in price a bit.

I recently subscribed to FilmFour a few months ago and have addressed the following gaps in my viewing:

Apocalypse Now
Clerks
Chasing Amy
Natural Born Killers
The Deer Hunter

In recognition of the fact that I had several unforgivable gaps, I also went out and rented the following in the past year:

Hi,

I read your reveiw of apocalypse now - very interesting - just a point but there are a few mistakes - not to sound critical just pointing out - Laurence Fishburne was 14 when production began in 1976 not 13 and the film is now 22 years old not 30 as you state - please don't take this as criticism I'm just pointing things out - also Martin sheen had a heart attack during filming which is why he doesn't look so good for some of the film.

I'd have a look on uk.imdb.com when reviewing a film to get as bit of trivia relating to the title always goes down well.

Good site though and keep up the good work.

The first rule of Fight Club is....

Saw this for the first time Saturday.
Bloody 'eck what a great film! I could never be arsed with the whole thing when it came out, then there was the excellent DVD that came out after. Poo.
Then someone loaned me it [loaned, eh?] and I put it on just whilst I was browsing on the PC and was hooked from start to finish.

/egg-face ON

Now I know.:)

this is an interesting thread topic...

here are the "big & famous" movies i've always been meaning to get round to seeing, but the opurtunity has never arose, come to think about, they're hardly on terrestrial TV regularly, either:

Citizen Cane (the greatest movie of all time.. apparently?)
2001, Dr Strangelove (kubrick fan i am, but just haven't seen these two!!)
The Godfather Trilogy (and i say i like gangster movies, i look a fool when i say i've not seen these ones in the genre)..

all in all, extremely shocking...

The Shawshank Redemption

Gladiator
and numerous others

I've got nearly a fortnight off from January 1st. Must make a resolution to clear that large backlog of unwatched DVD's.
