Taxi Driver problems ?

just picked up TD in HMV sale, now im not gonna watch it now but i want to test whether this disc works.

can someone tell me where some these problems i keep hearing about may occur ?

What player do you have..? Is this problems when you are accessing the relevant scene from the script? When I had a Sammy 709 it used to throw me to the start of the movie all the time, thats the only minor problem I ever had with this.

The problems I had with my various copies until I got a decent one were:

A: Once main menu comes up I hit play on documentary. The soundtrack began playing and the counter started moving, but the screen stayed static on the menu.

B: The film played fine until about scene 22, can't remember offhand, but as De Niro and Foster were walking round the corned from the coffeeshop, again the counter and soundtrack kept going but the picture remained frozen.
