Any photo printer would be good. Whats your budget? The Canon iP4200 is highly recommended, and also prints onto printable CDs/DVDs.
£75 at Amazon.co.uk (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000B67YK2/thedvdforums-21)

Seconded. Brilliant printer, very quiet and quick too. Folds up neatly as well. :)

Make sure it does bordlerless printing up to A4.
My HP 960 printer puts a margin/border on the right side (when landscape). I have had covers cut off at the end and the margin cannot be moved.
That Cannon is now £68.
That Canon is now £68.
Plus £4.50 delivery as it's actually supplied by
Pixmania (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=15797&a=60823&g=120943)
Something weird going on there, when you click on the link it says:
Availability: usually dispatched within 24 hours.
Delivered FREE in the UK when you select Super Saver Delivery. See details & conditions
but when you click on the listing it jumps to the Pixmania purchase page, but at the right hand side you can buy it from Amazon for £75.02.

not weird really - theyve just changed the format so the main purchase button is from the cheapst amazon marketplace supplier rather than Amazon like it was before
Amazon must make more money from fees charged to third party sellers than they do from selling goods themselves so its in there own interests to have made this change
pixmania charge £68 + £6.80 delivery on their own website so with Amazon fees they are making a lot less money selling on Amazon - Im surprised there is no mark up to compensate
how much are replacement canon ink cartridges then ?
current printer I have is a lexmark - didnt realise their cartridges were so expensive when I bought the dam thing ! - clever marketing - sell the printers cheap then charge loads for replacement cartridges

The ip4200 takes 5 cartridges (C,M,Y and 2 Ks) each costs ~£9, but as they are separates it could end up being more economical.

current printer I have is a lexmark - didnt realise their cartridges were so expensive when I bought the dam thing ! - clever marketing - sell the printers cheap then charge loads for replacement cartridgesThe Lexmark cartridges are like HP cartridges though - they're complete print-heads, rather than Canon cartridges which are just ink tanks. Thats why over time, HP and Lexmark prints look better, as you're replacing the print-head each time.
The iP4200 replaced the iP4000 and is still relatively new. I don't think there are compatibles yet, but the originals (which I heartily recommend - check previous Canon compatible ink threads) are £7.50 a pop.

The carts for the newer model are dearer because the ink used is the new Chromalife type.

I am not so sure there will be sufficiently good compatible inks available for this model in due course :suspect:
Have to say, for all the amount of ink I tend to use [the iP4000 carts seem to last for absolutely ages! ;) ], I am coming round to to only using originals in the future - certainly to be recommended if you intend to do a lot of photo printing.
