Can anyone confirm this possible NTSC problem

Hi,

My brother has a multi region macrovision free pioneer dvd player, which plays region 2 discs no problem however as soon as he attempts to play a region 1 disc the picture is outputted in black and white. I assume this is a problem with his TV not being able to display a NTSC signal correctly, anyone able to confirm?

It sounds as if that is the problem. Do Pioneers not have a NTSC-PAL 60 switch on the back. Try changing that to see if there is an improvement...

Failing that, you can buy coverters for about £40
