View Full Version : Will Epson replace 3 x faulty R200 printers?

I have had a interesting offer from somebody who lives a few minutes away from me. Basically he has bought 3 "Spares or Repair" Epson R200 printers which are fully boxed, one is missing the power cord and one is missing the CD tray (No big deal there then!).

Basically he is after a XBox and he says for one of mine plus £15 on top I can have the 3 printers. Good deal for me as the XBox only cost around £40 new (Don't ask, it worked on the basis I sold all the free bits that came with it).

Anyway if the printers are still in warranty (And I know they use the serial number for this if proof of purchase is not available) then will Epson be prepared to come round and replace all 3 of them? Even 1 would be a start!

:dork:

Surely they won't replace them when its simply peripherials that are missing? Or is something actually wrong with these despite this?

Yeah, Epson won't replace bits that are missing or have been lost under warranty. And why would someone sell them on as "Spares or Repair" if they could be fixed under warranty. And if it's just missing bits how come neither the current or previous owner have just put one working one together.
Sounds like there's most likely more wrong with them than bits missing, would personally stay well clear.

I think he said the printers power on but just get red lights. I want the actual printers replacing with refurbs, not the missing extras!

I'd still be dubious. Why pass them on to you so cheap if they can be fixed under warranty? Probably find they're water damaged from a warehouse or had coffee spilled into them :D. No warranty will cover anything physically damaged.

Suppose so although he did say I could go and look at them before commiting to any swap :D

Unless you refill a cartridge and reset it yourself using non-manufacturer cartridges does not void Epson warrenties.
