View Full Version : National Lampoon's Vacation R2 - anamorphic ?
Is National Lampoon's Vacation R2 anamorphic ?
I've found one review that says it is, but both Play and DVDStreet say that it's not.
And if anyone owns it - how is the quality ?

Just checked mine for you, and yep, it is anamorphic. :)
The overall quality of the print used it superb, there are a very few scenes that can be slightly grainy, (the opening titles that I just looked at were at times), but once into the flick itself, it has never looked better than what it does here.
Thank you !
Another R2 disc that is superior to it's R1 counterpart. :)
Now if they could only release Christmas Vacation I would be really happy.

Which is the film that has the Grizwolds at Christmas with the exploding turkey and Dad on the roof fixing the lights etc? And is it out on R2 dvd?
Christmas Vacation has only been released as a R1 fullscreen version. I have read that it is not Pan&Scan but Open Matte, but I'll rather wait till they release it as a R2 which will probably be anamorphic widescreen.
But I guess we'll have to wait until christmas 2002 because it hasn't been announced for this year and I doubt they'll release a christmas movie in July.

Just order National Lampoon's Vacation for £7.99 from Play (http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=R2&title=2059) so hopefully here before Christmas but I somehow doubt it! (Where is my Fast And Furious DVD... :D )
I love these films!
DVD releases are non-existence on R2 and I am glad i did not win a R1 ebay auction for Christmas Vacation as I have learnt from this posting that it wasn't widescreen.
As a consolation - Christmas Vacation is on Channel 5 on boxing day, hopefully - like last year (or year before?) it will be uncut, ITV - were great at badly cutting it.
Are anymore being made? Vegas Vacation certainly didn't dissapoint.
