The Digitheatre LC is excellent considering what it costs (RRP is £120).

The full Digitheatre has recieved loads of positive reviews .THe LC model id the same but without the Dolby Digital decoder and remote control.

You will have no problems using it with your M5's inbuilt DD and DTS decoder. You will need 3 twin phono - phono leads though to connect from the phono outs on the player to the phono in sockets on the subwoofer (which contains the amplifiers).

One other thing,
I currently have my M5 connected via scart to my Toshiba Pro Logic TV, if i went with the Digitheatre LC, would i really notice the difference? is it proper surround sound then.
Please excuse my ignorance.

You will be amazed by the difference.
Even forgettting the extra power and quality of the speakers, the difference between pro-logic and Dolby Digital is amazing.

Its like the jump between mono and stereo - it really is a big difference.
Like i said the RRP is £120. Most places on the net that sell it , sell it slightly lower.

Just stick in a film with decent sound and wait for the smile to appear on your face ;)
I reccommend Twister , if you have it. Its like sitting in the middle of a tornado.

Would the Digitheatre LC work with my Aiwa 370? I'm very unclear as to whether I'd need a decoder.

Chris, look at the back of your player to see if there is a bank of 6 output phono sockets . They should be labelled something like FL,FR ,Centre,SL,SR and Subwoofer.
If they are there then you have an inbuilt decoder and can use the Digitheatre LC.

If there is no bank of 6 phonos and just a single phono labelled digital out , then you don't have an inbuilt decoder. In this case you would need the full Digitheatre or something similar.

Just the one out. Full Digitheatre it is then - when I have some money...
