Wondered if anyone else had had this problem. I can send mms to any mobile network. Can receive from all bar t-mobile.....

I get a message saying 'msg notification' then detals of size, from who, date and then validity. If i press ok it asks if i want to retrieve or delete the message. Then after a moment i get 'url not found'.

It's only on pics / mms sent by tmobile that i have this problem. All others i get fine, have got mms from all other networks whilst testing it. My number was ported over from t-mobile - i wondered if this would make any difference ....? My phone is a samsung D500.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Weird, BT Mobile use the T-Mobile network which I think would be more likely the issue. I have not recieved any to my BT Mobile. Can you recieve them from other BT Mobile users?

to be honest i'm not sure as i don't know anyone else on bt mobile haha although bt mobile made me send 5 mms to myself to try it out.

On the website (btmobile) it directs you to see mms on web (on the t-mobile site) but must have a password. I dont get password.... have spent three days with bt mobile being...... useless on the advise front!

anyone on btmobile / t-mobile wanna try sending me an mms? :n0rty:

I could have sworn BT Mobile were on O2 network (at least they had a team in our offices about a year ago).
Did you have your number ported at all?

Well a quick look on my Nokia 6230 and it shows available networks as:

BT
O2-UK
vodaphone-uk
Orange

So that makes me think T-Mobile ;) On my Blackberry it shows T-Mobile, Orange and O2 (no Vodaphone as the signal is weak here for them)

fairy snuff - think i did read somewhere they changed networks.
Anyway Chally said she moved from T-Mobile to BT Mobile, so I know the problem.
Basically, T-Mobile have your MMS profile still on their MMSC so you get the notification of the message but it never hits BT Mobiles MMSC server, therefore no picture.

The ONLY way you can resolve this, is to call BT Mobile and ask them to fill out an Incident Report and get their engineers to contact T-Mobile's engineers to release the profile off the MMSC. We have this issue ALL the time at O2 from people who ported from T-Mobile to us.

You may well find that BT Mobile will tell you to contact T-Mobile. T-Mobile wont help as you are no longer their customer. Insist that BT Mobile raise this fault.

WildWayz - thanks for that but does it make any difference that i'm getting mms from others except t-mobile? If they still had my mmsc profile then surely i'd get none from anywhere yet i get from all bar t-mobile.

that is exactly what will happen. The ported out provider still thinks you are on their network so anyone sending mms from that provider wont hit the ported to network.

oh ok, thanks for that - i've talked to bt mobile again and told them this - they say nothing they can do as it's gone over to the 2nd line help and being investigated...... does this mean they'll see the pics too?

are mms able to be viewed by staff of the provider? *gulp* LOL

NO they cannot view the pictures or text messages.
All they can see is the file size of the image.

Two day of waiting for second line support to call me back - have had to call T-Mobile - no joy there - they say all went ok from their end........
