If the movie is anything like the trailer then its going to blow a lot of people's socks off.

The only down point is the love interest you get bits of, from the trailer. I am afraid it will be another "Girl attracted to the Super hero but can't stand his human identity. Tries all she can to find out who the hero really is behind the mask, etc..."
Superman I & II done it really well. I hope it's not going to be reheated leftovers in Spider-Man.

Either way it's looks like being one of the BIG movies of 2002 (along with The Two Towers of course):D

Plenty of Superhero cliches, but looks interesting...
...Green Goblin looks like a cartoon figure, I guess the f/x will be touched up by May.

I'd want to download the media player version, so I can have full screen. Well bummer really. But the ending line of dialogue was a nice bit of in joke :D

Look quite slick!

BTW is it just me or does anyone else find it quite perverse that these genius directors, that made these classic cult movies that us geeks all grew up with, are now making state-of-the-art Hollywood blockbusters!
I mean what percentage of the <I>Spiderman</i> audience are gonna be sitting there next year thinking this is by the guy who made <i>Evil Dead</i>, man!
...and next week when me and my mates watch <I>The Fellowship of the Ring</I> we'll be thinking this is made by Derek...and Derek's don't run! :D

you can all thank me later :D

here is the direct link to the hi-res file - 21.5mb

http://a1872.g.akamai.net/5/1872/51/9a72685786af31/1a1a1aaa2198c627970773d80669d84574a8d80d3cb12453c02589f25382f668c9329e0375e8177ae955ca37990263920575de42a71946b31482/spiderman_tlr1_mm480.mov

copy and paste that URL as ONE long line (you'll probably have to cut and paste each separate line one after the other) into your favourite Download Manager and wait ;)

OR - go to my temporary webpage HERE (http://www.kaneda.freeserve.co.uk/spider.html) where I have a direct link...

about the only thing i can think of is have you tried the auto-update feature of QT? cos I know they've changed the encoder recently (a while back actually, but not all trailers use it just yet) which requires an update even on QT5...

Just finished downloading and watched it, very nice indeed :) Looks like it could be the movie Sam Raimi needs to really bring him under the spotlight...shame Bruce Campbell didn't make the trailer though.

Robby and everyone else - there is a Dark Horizons link now but I just set this up quickly before learning of this so may as well post it :D

thats a website i just made, with a direct link that works ;) at least it did for me.

copy and paste that link into notepad (all four lines will then be correctly formatted into a single line) - then copy and paste from notepad into your favourite Download Manager and wait ;)

Hello Dave (or anyone else who may know)
When I copied & pasted your link into notepad was I then supposed to do something else as it didn't become one line?
Cheers, Paul.

Oh! Look at that!
Looks like a link if ever I saw one!
I guess that answers that question!

yep, i made a mistake - it worked last time i did it! You basically have to get the link into a Download Manager without any spaces, or %20 (html code for a space) etc.... see a couple of posts up, i've made a little website with the direct link available (just right click and save as, or copy shortcut into another prog).

If you're referring to the link in your Quote from my original post then you've probably already discovered that won't work - the reason I never posted it like that is because the forum software adds < / br > tags to the url (which signifies a line break in html) which screws it up...its all very irritating :D

On first impressions it looks a bit more faithful to the comicbooks than batman was but I did think some of the effects looked a bit ropey. I hope they polish them up before the release of the film.

According to IMDB its 10/5/02 - one week after the US release. Very nice:

Kirsten is bootiful. :)

Looks fun, hoped it might have been a bit darker but still looks good. Some of the CG was a little obvious but I have faith the finished film will be good!

15-12-2001, 16:59
So are they completely removing the whole twin towers sequence from the film then?

I think they should leave them in as a sort of tribute or something, it'd be good to see them again.

If you mean the bit in the first (recalled) teaser trailer, I think that was done specifically for that trailer & not a part of the actual movie.

Hope so anyway, it was a really cheap looking model helicopter ;)

Try right clicking on the link and go to 'save as'. Save it to the desktop, then move it where you want to keep it.

Hope this was helpful!

I don't suppose anyone found a way or knows a link to get the two other trailers?

The Green Goblin one and the other Spiderman one. You can only view them on the official site and can't download :(

kanedaa
16-12-2001, 18:18
I've updated my Webpage (http://www.kaneda.freeserve.co.uk/spider.html) to include a direct link to the Hi-Res version of the 2nd Teaser - its only 4.6mb (not downloaded myself) so I think i've got the right one.

I've got the 1st Teaser (Twin Towers) on my HD, but its not on the Webpage to even view anymore is it? I'll have a look though.

EDIT - I can't see the original Teaser for viewing on the official sites...Movielist (http://www.movie-list.com/s/spider-man.shtml) have a direct link to the 1st Teaser on their Spiderman page but it doesn't seem to work, although some folk on the Forums (http://www.movie-list.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000109.html) there think the link goes up and down throughout the days?

You'll probably find the Teaser on Morpheus/Kazaa etc (its 21.3mb if that helps in finding it)

Thanks Kanedaa. I'm downloading as I type this - not sure if it's the one I was looking for but I'll soon find out :)

The two I want to get are the green goblin teaser and the other spidey one with him swinging back into his room just as Aunt May and Willem Defoe are coming up the stairs to speak to him...

There's a couple of different bits used. The one about half way through is part of Danny Elfman's score from Planet Of The Apes (2001!)

Just a quick note to say cheers to kaneeda for the link to on his web space.

The hi-res version makes it look all the better.

Sweet Jesus, I can't wait until May..

Tobey M IS Peter Parker judging by these shots, I hope the film lives up to the trailer...

The really cool music, which runs all the way through the trailer from the point Spidey murmurs "Who am I? I'm Spiderman" is a track called Pompeii by E.S. Posthumus.

FAB trailer, probably anticipate this more that Eppy 2.

I downloaded from Trailers World (http://www.trailersworld.com/movie.asp?movie_id=984)

This looks like an excellent film, a bit too much CGI maybe. The music in the opening sequence is from The Matrix and then Planet of the Apes alright don't know what the third bit is from even though I recognise it.

The original Teaser Trailer with the Twin Tower footage was shot for the trailer, it's not in the film at all!

Loved the bit at the end of the trailer when Peter is visiting Aunt May in hospital and she says "You do too much, you're not Superman you know".

Wow that trailer just made my day!!, I am a huge fan of the comics and it looks like this film might do them justice!.

SpiderMan or Episode 2? Close call.

Roy
18-12-2001, 12:48
Got to agree about that Superman line, what a great fan-boy moment...

Episode 2 or Spidey - so far looking at all the trailers avalable there doesn't look like a contest to me. Rabid George's merchandising vehicle or Spidey swinging from building to building.

Spidey, all the way.

Madm@tt
18-12-2001, 16:51
I got this earlier today... WOW!

Spidey/Epi II: Lets just say - the cinema will win!:D

EDIT - After the Matrix music and before the POTA (2001) music there's some from FDTD (or the DVD menus at least).

Finnaly downloaded it on my 56K modem.... simply one of the best trailers I have ever seen. I can't wait.......

Roy
18-12-2001, 18:41
It is very good isn't it?

I'm still trying to seperate the excitement of seeing Spiderman "on screen" from my objective view of the film.

The music in the last third also adds a huge amount to the atmosphere of the trailer, it's a shame that isn't part of the actual score by the sounds of it...

By all accounts the trailer will be runing with Lord of the Rings as well, at least in the states.

Yeah, the series of movies from the seventies were hilarious - in particular, when he was 'walking' up the sides of skyscrapers. His hands and feet were always flailing all over the place as the wires lifted him up!!!!!!!
