Thought there were a few people on the forum who may be interested and are not aware of this.

First come first served and apparently according to avland they will only be available in silver!!! Gutted wanted one to match my 859 amp.

get ready for a price reduction though, and i`ve currently got one sat here for working on a mod over xmas - first units ship jan 18th to Pioneer.

Justin,

any idea of price and how good this thing is?

I'm damn tempted.

Will there be a Gold one (I know but it's the only was to sneak it past the wife!).

Thanks for the reply Justin, I was aware they were on your site but thought a little competition can only help us punters ;)

Price drop sounds interesting and I'm glad they aren't coming until January as my CC's are a little bit stressed at the mo'

Any comments about it's capabilities?

Could this player by an option for me :D
I sure hope the price reduction is enough for me to afford one :D

Go on Justin, give us a clue to the price reduction.

The 646A went down from £599 to £399, lets hope the same percentage happens here or is that just wishful thinking :)

Oh and Justin, whats the layer change like on the 747?

Oh and I forgot to ask, what do you think of the player so far?

And does it suffer from the chroma upsampling bug of earlier Pioneers?

Pioneer tell me the RRP is coming down to £800-£900, now all i need to do is see how much Home Cinema Heaven knock off that RRP. :D

If I tell you my budget, you'll probably tell me "In your dreams m8"

We're getting there slowly :D

Basically Silver 646, but better built, PSU, seperate power stages and audio stages, and SACD / DVD stage. Not a bad performer at all so far:)

price will be £799.99, just not changed web site yet.

Err, no Pioneer has suffered from this since the old 505 and 909, some 4 years ago!

Actually the SRP was £999 brought down to £899, which is why everyones quoting £899, but we`ve already got our order in and know what we`re getting charged, hence the £799 price to go up this week:)

******! £600-£700 is the absolute max for me. Just have to wait until it comes down a bit more or wait for one of those offers you do :-)

I really want the 747 cause of the DVD Audio and SACD, i will wait patiently :)
