I expected, if not a masterpiece, at least an entertaining couple of hours; after all, Barry Levinson has made a few excellent films, the cast was pretty good, and the premise was amusing. Unfortunately, while the actors are all fine, the script has some witty lines, and it's all nicely mounted, this has to be one of the most boring mainstream films I've ever had the misfortune to watch.
The major problem is that there was absolutely no dramatic tension; the first 30 minutes or so are entertaining enough, as Bruce Willis and Billy Bob break out of prison, embark on a robbing spree, and pick up bored housewife Cate Blanchett en route, but the film simply doesn't have enough plot to sustain a 60-minute TV drama, let alone a 2 hour drama. Shame, because the cast really are good, but the endless tedium caused half the audience (well, 4 people) to walk out well before the end. Did anyone else actually enjoy this??
