View Full Version : Supernova tonight on Sky One (Spoilers)
Is anyone going to watch this tonight, incase you haven't seen the many trailers for it:
The first part of this edge of the seat thriller. The sun is set to explode in a supernova that will bring about the end of world ... in just seven days.
Director: John Harrison
Starring: Luke Perry, Clemency Burton-Hill, Eliza Bennett, Tia Carrere, Jeremy Crutchley, Peter Fonda
(New Series, Widescreen, Subtitles, Part 1 of 2, 2005, 2 Star)
It gets an interesting rate on the IMDB (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0419373/), but as I like this kind off stuff I'll be watching.

Every time I see the trailer with Luke Perry wearing that green jacket at the start I think it`s a trailer for Jeremiah Series 2. And then my hopes are dashed.
I'll be watching even though it will probably be as bad as Category 6: Day of Destruction.

I think that falls into the 'so bad its good' category and this has the makings of being something similar.
Judging by the comments on IMDB it's far far worse than that. Won't be bothering as a result.

Peter Fonda is in this :oh-hum: Well i suppose Easy Rider was 36yrs ago.
That Francis Fulford programme is on again after this so it must be Sky One's unintentionally funny theme night. Can't believe they are going to make us wait a week to see the concluding part.
I had a look at the summary for the last part and it doesn't bode well:
Will Dr Richardson (Perry) be able to avert the end of the world?
Well how bad was that :D
I'll still watch next weeks episode though

Cool so bad its good disaster flick, will be watching the repeat Saturday Night
Remember that episode of Sledge Hammer when Sledge is trying to defuse a bomb and Captain Trunk is the only one saying "go bomb go". Supernova was so poor I was saying: "go sun go"... :D

There's a sequel now, Category 7: The End of the World (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468988/)!

The side story of the murder / revenge is totally unnecessary. The only thing that could really save it is if became too hot for the wife and /or the assitant to wear clothes :n0rty:
 I just creamed myself. Looking forward to it.
You and me both, come on Sky lets see it :D
Second part tonight at 9pm :D
So what happened? Managed to miss the repeat of Ep1 on Tuesday, so really can't be bothered now to watch any of it and am curious how they survive.

Luke Perry? Sideshow Luke Perry?
I don't know how they managed it, but this second part was even more laughable than the first. The whole 'Supernova' storyline seemed to play second fiddle to the other pointless goings on.
One minute it was all doom and gloom then they found the plus sign and everything was OK again. Also it started raining everywhere there was a fire
anyone want to give a brief overview? managed to forget it was on (not that hard) and i'm curious how they managed to avert a supernova.

Deaks.
Sky One are showing this starting next Sunday at 9 PM. But they are going to drag it out over 4 parts. Looks like it is almost time to batten down the hatches and any expectations you might have.

I was going to start a new thread for this yesterday because according to the latest Sky mag it was due to start tonight, but it does actually begin next Sunday.
A vote of 3.8 out of 10 and comments like "Totally waste of time", make me want to watch this even more no matter how trashy it turns out to be.

You know I quite enjoyed this, OK not spectacular and a total waste of a sub plot but still turned of my brain and enjoyed watching Tia run around.
