--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there,

I am new to the whole plasma and home theater thing and am about to set about buying my first plasma/LCD and home theater system. I have already had the wall in my living room prepared, trunking in the wall and a fish wire to pull the cables up the inside. My problem is that I have no idea what kind of home theater box to but. Ideally I would like to be able to plug DVD/Ntl box into the amp and have minimal wiring running up inside the trunking. I have heard this can be achieved via 1 or so cables. Also what should I be looking for in a TV that it is compatible with this minimal wiring set up. Sorry for being so vague but it is a foreign area for me.

Thanks

Chris

This can be achieved in a couple of ways. First is a plasma/LCD with HDMI/DVI outputs and a HDMI switching amplifier. (Denon 3806, Yamaha 2600/4600). Secondly is plasma/LCD with component input and an amp that switches component and upconverts too. Again the Denons and the Yamahas do this as well as the other usual suspects (Sony, Pioneer etc.)

HDMI is the route that gives high definition options, but is more expensive.
