Just set up my 1st Home Cinema gear. DVD is scarted to av1, get a nice picture and great sound thru amp with an optical connect. Thought I'd try s-video since I used that for dvds when I had a player on my PC. It used to work fine on ext 3 of my TV, but I get no picture now. If I cycle through the AV channels, I get a garbled picture very briefly when I get back to ext 3, then the screen goes blue again.

Toshiba 210 dvd - JVC TV.

Thanks

is the dvd set to output svideo? most have an option and if set wrongly you wont get a picure.

try connecting via scart, which can cope with rgb or composite, so your more likely to get a picture. or if you can connect everything to everything...ie svideo, composite and rgb if your tv has all the connectors

Sorted.

U were right, u needed to switch it via the player. Problem was of course, without having switched, u couldn't see the menu to switch it over. I had to go through RGB then switch to s-video.

I can't tell the difference, though it does mean that AV1 is freed up for Sky and VCR.

Thanks

Pity, on my Tosh 28W8DB and LG 3350 there is a big improvement in the picture, espically on detail like the bomb case in Matrix
